Basil for Pesto & Caprese Salad Review by Unknown

This is THE basil plant for my garden & I make sure to have 8-10 plants to ensure I have enough. The flavor is spectacular and if you have as many plants as I do, you can make a huge batch of pesto at the end of the season, put it into small containers and freeze it so that you have your own pesto all winter and into the spring. Be sure to plant these so that they get enough air circulation or they will get attacked by fungus in cooler damp areas such as my location (10 mi east of the Golden Gate in the SF Bay Area).

This basil grew VERY well! I completly neglected it, and it loved it! Kept me in stock of fresh basil all season long, and even filled my dehydrator several times!.

LOVE it! Review by Unknown

I grow 5-10 plants every year and don't have any problems down in the Arkansas River Valley. When everything else was suffering in the mid-90 degree heat, the Genovese was really hitting it's stride. This is THE basil for out of this world pesto. At the end of the season, I puree the leaves in olive oil and freeze in ice cube trays. "Fresh" basil in December; yum!.
