Great flavor! Review by Dreaming Horse

I grew Brandywine in my hoop greenhouse this year. As they grew, I attached the vines to a support that went from the ground to the center top of the greenhouse. Our northern climate experienced a lot of rain in 2009, in July it rained 20 days out of the month. While there was a tomato blight in the north, the greenhouse gardeners were more exempt from that due to the controlled watering, and by the end of the season my tomato plants went to the top of the greenhouse and started trailing over the other side, over 6 feet tall! Their huge leaves, reminiscent of a big hand, were a delight, and as I watered them I would brush the leaves to get that nice tomato smell. I had to support the tomatoes because they were growing so large, many over 1 pound. The old timers like this flavor packed tomato for making into sandwiches, and I managed to also make lots of salsa with mine. I will grow this again for sure, and saving the seeds is fun, definately not a chore. Bears lots of 1 to 2 pounders of medium red fruits..

They even impressed my mother Review by Unknown

These are the most beautiful and tasty tomatoes we have ever grown. They have soft skins which are easy to peel and are great for canning. Very productive and meaty with few seeds. I would highly recommend!!.

Excellent germination Review by JeanneB

I had 100% germination with this cultivar. The plants are robust and do not need much support, unlike many hybrids I've grown. The fruits set well and stay on the plant until picked. They are just acid enough to give tang, but sweet with a good tomato flavor. Although large tomatoes, they are not mealy or mushy. A Pink Brandywine, loaf of bread and some salt and pepper is all we need for a great summer dinner..

The tomato that all others should be measured by Review by Alierias

I got the seeds for these 10 years ago at the Saratoga Springs farmers market from a tomato that tasted like heaven. I have grown them ever since.
2009 was a blight year; very little yield. 2010 had great growing conditions, but we were overwhelmed by stink bugs, which, when put a tiny hole into a brandywine, make the fruit collapse into mush almost overnight. I started picking them green and ripening them indoors, where they were still superior, but not perfection.
They are a large potato leaved plant, with a decent yield of medium to large fruit. I find they make a good addition to sauce, but they will make it watery. Very few of mine make it into the saucepot because they are such great fresh eating. They deserve a spot in any garden!.

Best tasting Review by gmay

This is by far the best tasting tomato I have ever eaten. I grow them every year and will do it for the rest of my life. The tomato is ginormous. I love to cut the tomato about 1/2 thick and put it in between 2 pieces of toast (the tomato is so wide that fits perfectly on bread) and add some mayo, onion, and homemade cheese. It is a divine sandwich from a divine tasting tomato!.

Flavor! Review by Yanqui Mike

I grew these in Argentina this year. They astounded the local, my wife, and even myself.
The flavor is second to none. I heartily agree with Alierias that their flavor should be the measure that every other tomato should be compared to.
What really surprised me was that their flavor was as delicious even when they were green! Different texture, same great flavor. That´s really nice when you get impatient to pull some off the vine when they are only half ripe!
I´m going to plant SO many next year that I might actually make a dent in the Argentine tomato market! People here haven´t tasted a real tomato since we yanquis had our last one.

Spicy, fruity, juicy and meaty. Big plant, yields are moderate, but definitely one of the best fresh eating tomatoes ever. You can't go wrong..
