Egg Yolk

TY114

80 days. The fruit are a lovely yellow color, being the shape,
size and color of an egg yolk. A tantalizing taste treat
just bursting with rich, fruity flavor and all of summer’s
sweetness. The extra-long vines really amazed
us with their productiveness. Developed by Larry
Pierce from a sport he found growing in his garden.

Productive Tomato Review by Karl M

Overall Rating

The Egg Yolk Tomato was the most productive tomato in my garden last summer. I had a hard time keeping up once it got going. It is a sweet and mild tasting tomato that is definitely worth giving some space in your garden..

The most delicious small tomato Review by Don

Overall Rating

My family voted to give this 5 stars because we really loved the flavor - very sweet, just a bit tangy, and somewhat unusual for a tomato. Flavor was especially good early in the season. This was the earliest of the 10 varieties we grew (67 days from when we planted the 8-week seedlings). The plants were very productive, though a bit unruly, and with the tomatoes coming only in small clusters..

Heavy producer Review by Unknown

Overall Rating

Very heavy producer, and starts ripening earlier than many of my other varieties. The taste is good, but not the best. The taste tends to be a bit more watery (and hence more mild) than many of my other smaller tomatoes, but also seems to have just a tad more acid to it than what I would normally consider a "mild" tomato. It's not a bad taste by any means - probably above average, but it's not a taste test winner either.

If you like lots of almost ping pong ball size tomatoes though, this is your plant..

very productive Review by Katie

Overall Rating

These produced heavily all season, even when my other tomatoes did not do so well, and really went nuts just before the first frost. The green ones ripened well in a box covered with newspaper with no real loss of flavor. I still have some left, and they are getting a bit shriveled, but the chickens still like them..

Very solid tomato Review by Scott

Overall Rating

I have saved these seeds myself for 2 yrs after buying from Baker. Very good production. Last year was probably the worst year for tomatoes I've ever seen due to early monsoons and mid-summer extreme heat here in Illinois, and these were the only ones that produced. At least I had salad tomatoes all summer. .

It keeps going... Review by Al

Overall Rating

I bought my stock directly from a vendor at a festival. The plant is vigorous and after growing 2 years I always seems to find a few volunteers that get replanted. The plant can take the Memphis heat and humidity with no signs of disease and the fruit does not seem to be as prone to cracking. I like to pick them for fresh eating when the upper skin is almost translucent. .
