The small leaves are good whole in salads. I also like it in a stir fry, which tones down the heat considerably. Becomes intolerably spicy in hot weather. Chuck it in the compost pile when the weather gets warm. My dog is quite fond of it as well..

My entire family enjoyed this easy to grow mustard in salads this spring. It adds wonderful color and has just the right amount of heat so the kids can enjoy it too. Unfortunately we did not let it get big enough to cook because harlequin bugs attacked and wiped out all seven plants overnight. We will definetly grow again but keep a closer eye out for bugs..

I grow Japanese Giant Red Mustard every year in my fall and winter garden, more for its beauty in the garden than to eat! It's lovely in our mixed bed along with other Asian greens..

Beautiful, tender and tasty. Grows twice as fast in my zone 9 garden as Southern Giant. .

We gave up harvesting this beautiful mustard to just let it grow to potential in our fall garden. It looks wonderful with the fall flowers and decorations..

I planted this last Spring, and loved it! It ended up self-seeding, and I still have some of these big, gorgeous plants growing even after a hard frost (it's late January), which I expected to take them out! Excellent flavor, and from now on, I will grow them every winter, when I usually am feeling greens-deprived..
