Jumbo Pink Banana Squash excel in eating quality. They have a beautiful pinkish orange color.Their productivity is good. This is a dependable variety which is fun to grow. Size of individual specimens seems more variable than with most squash varieties..

A very attractive fruit . Ours 12-18 lb. weight . Better for show than for cooking . OK soup . Maybe it is our cooler summers , but these never get very sweet . But they are easy to cut up ..

Slice it in slabs, sprinkle it with brown sugar and butter. Hooey, they are good. I planted 2 seeds. I got (4) 30 lb fruits, and (7) in the 10-15 lb range. My csa all rated them 4 stars. Needed a cleaver to get them open. GREAT keeper. Big vine, we trellised these and supported the fruit..

Grew this in a mound of compost and it took over the back corner of the yard. Had some problems with blossom end rot so will be adding egg shells(calcium) this year to the soil. Great in recipes calling for pumpkin. Freezes well..

I harvested 3 of these squash this year, in a neglected garden they still made some! 2 of the squash were the typical color; one had the typical color only in a few patches, the rest being blue! (Planted next to Jarradale and Queensland blue?) The flesh is so smooth and stringless, made a delicious pie and would have also been great for the squash version of mashed potatoes. They will be in my garden again theis year..

Wow! Review by CJ

Ok everyone, I have never, EVER seen such incredible productivity in a squash plant before. I have a winter squash obsession and have grown out over 30 different varieties in the last 8 years or so. These plants need room as the fruits are HUGE (we came to call them "squash bombs" as they looked like torpedoes), but not as much room as you would expect if you saw the size and yield. One fruit could literally feed a village. If anyone is interested in high yield food crops this baby would be top of the list. Average was 15+ fruits per plant. I mean, c'mon! And the size! 25 pounders! And they have been keeping great. I think our neighbors will never forget this one. I find them on the sweet side, and I am more of a savory type, but the flesh for the most part was thick, beautifully colored and I wouldn't call it dry but great taste. My friend who makes and freezes squash pies is in squash heaven with these puppies. Very rewarding, very fun, LOTS of food..

Best Pie Ever! Review by Jules

these grow without any trouble, and produce sweet, very smooth flesh. Pie is fluffy and sweet with only some cinnamon and nutmeg added for flavor. I also freeze the extra pulp and it is creamy and smooth with no need for any added seasoning! Love this squash..

We have a short growing season but these still were terrific!! Vigorous vines.. even after being attacked by vine borers they pulled through & produced nice sized squash. I have some that are easily over 2 ft long. I picked one for supper last week & the flavor was very nice... I'm a mom of 4 ~ages ranging from 14 down to 2 and had no problems getting any of them to eat it, it was good!! This is the first year for us to grow these & they will be in the gardens from here forward! THANK YOU so much for the AWESOME seeds you send me time after time again. A.D.
