I did not have any interest in red cabbage. Was sent this package free with other seed I ordered. Amateur gardener. Tried it in the garden and was surprisingly fun to watch it grow. Other cabbage did not grow for some reason but this one did. Busyness kept me out of the garden until the temps dropped to teens and the wind was blowing 30mph. Made a dramatic final December run out to the garden at night during snow storm with the children to see if we couldn't still harvest this and some leeks. Leeks were frozen solid into ground. Pulled cabbage. Still good. Just made "German Red Cabbage" for the first time tonight. Highly recommended. Great taste. Hardy. Beautiful. Fun..

Best red cabbage ever! Review by Tamara

I love red cabbage, but had never grown it myself. I planted these super late in the season last year and they got shuffled and transplanted several times as we built our greenhouse and rearranged our garden area. It didn't matter. 100% germination rate on these hardy, delicious plants that survived an unexpected snow storm and so much more.
They are extra tasty if you pick them when they are smaller (less than 10" in diameter), but still quite delicious when they reach bowling ball size, too. I just planted some more for my fall garden and can't wait to get a harvest!.
