Great Eggplant Review by Micycle
Overall Rating
This was among my favorite eggplants that I have ever planted. It was a heavy yielding and was not not bitter. I found it was ideal to be picked when it was about and inch and a half in diameter, other wise it got a little pithy inside. It was relatively popular at markets compared to other eggplant varieties. I regret not prioritizing saving its seed this past season..

great eggplant Review by Unknown

Like the previous reviewers have said, this eggplant has no bitterness at all and the looks alone makes it worthwhile. I find that there are no seeds when they are picked no more than 2 inches wide and the texture is very creamy. Thin skin and the flavor is excellent in stir fry..

High Yielding, Few Seeds Review by MinnesotaMom

High yielding eggplant (even in Minnesota)with beautiful snow-white flesh and very few, small seeds. You can use the entire eggplant and not have to remove areas with pockets of seeds. Beautiful and Flavorful too..

Great for Cooler Climates. Very Prolific. Review by Unknown

We live in a cool valley bottom with lots of coastal influence in Sonoma County, California. Our neighbors a mile closer to the coast can't grow tomatoes - it's too cool. We've tried many varieties of eggplants without plastic mulches or row covers and Ping Tung is repeatedly our earliest producer and heaviest producer. It also happens to have stunning looks on our Farmers' Market table and tastes great without any bitterness ever..

I grew three eggplants last summer, and Ping Tung was far and away the standout of the bunch. As others have said, there is no bitterness. It was delicious, and the plants were prolific here in western Massachusetts. This one is a keeper that I'll continue to grow. .

Great, delicious and prolific Review by Heartsong Farm

Tried Ping Tung last year. We have very cold nights here in the mountains of North Caroline., intermittently all summer. Wasn't sure how eggplant would do, as we have had trouble with other varieties. This one was incredible.
Produced heavy crops, delicious, mild taste and kept bearing until frost. .

Excellant! Review by Kat

I'm super impressed with this eggplant, it's lived up to its reputation of amazing taste. I can't even begin to describe how creamy and non-bitter it is. My husband isn't really a big eggplant lover and he requested that we grow this variety from here on out. We've only harvested 5 so far, but all 6 plants are heavy set with blossoms and tiny fruits. We did cage it, although I don't believe it's going to need it. .

I was lucky enough to get this eggplant as one of my freebies when I ordered. This is only my second time planting eggplant. They germinated alot quicker than what the seed packet suggested. These are wonderful! Great taste, few seeds, and my plants are loaded. I have grilled them, stir-fried, and also did eggplant parmesan with these babies. Will definitely grow again. Thanks Baker Creek!.

Super Producer Review by Brooke

These produced excellent and abundant fruit for us for over a year (we live in Arizona and didn't cull the plants at the end of the season). They are incredibly hardy and drought resistant. They have a slight spiciness to them, and made the best baba ganoush I have ever tasted!.
