Quadrato D' Asti Giallo Pepper

PP103

80 days. The giant yellow Quadrato bell pepper. The huge fruit are a favorite here. The largest variety we have grown, beautiful and blocky, with very thick walls; the flavor is outstanding--sweet and rich! This Italian variety gives very heavy yields; one of the best varieties for marketing. This superb pepper is a real winner!

Decent Despite Cool Summer Review by Unknown

Overall Rating

This did fairly well for us. The plant itself was stout and hardy and beautiful. However, this past summer was very cool for us in central Il (zone 5 *Let me note here that all of our different pepper varieties suffered from the cool summer*). The amount of fruit was okay, definitely not great. And only a few turned yellow, most began to rot on the plant when they were halfway to being full yellow. I contribute this to the weather. However, we did eat them green and they were delicious. Very crisp, very firm. For that reason alone we will try again this summer and hope for some pepper-friendlier weather..

Productive Review by Obsessed

I grew 3 of these plants in 2010. Midway through the season the plants are at least 3 ft tall and loaded with fruit. The fruit have yet to turn color but that is because I am consistently using them as a green pepper. Fruit is a nice big sized thin walled pepper..

Did not do good for me Review by Heritage Acres

Overall Rating

This pepper did not give huge yeilds for me and they didn't even turn yellow. I think I harvested less than 5 from 3 or 4 plants planted and only one was large. I planted 10 varieties of peppers and the rest ranged from good to great yields. Not sure what happened with this one......

Great Pepper Review by Creationsintime

Overall Rating

I live in an ag area that gets 'crop dusted' all the time with herbicides. My peppers were hit many times, and still produced. My little boy and I had peppers for breakfast every morning! If low production is a problem, try some aged manure. I had a population explosion.
PS the tomatoes and potatoes didn't make it. They should ban 24D!.
