EGGPLANT (Solanum melongena, S. gilo, S. integrifolium) 25-35 seeds per packet. We offer the best selection of quality heirloom eggplants in the USA. Days to maturity are based on transplants, and are approximate. Most species are from India or Africa, which indicates these plants love heat. Start indoors 8-12 weeks before last frost. Surface-sow and keep moist until sprouts appear, which can take up to three weeks or so. Transplant into the garden when weather has settled and soil is warm. Provide rich soil and ample moisture.

A 2"-3" round light-green eggplant, with cream stripes. Tasty in stir-fries, and sold extensively throughout Thailand. We've found this variety to be hardy and productive here in Missouri. Very rare in the U.S.; we are the only source this year.
