EGGPLANT (Solanum melongena, S. gilo, S. integrifolium) 25-35 seeds per packet. We offer the best selection of quality heirloom eggplants in the USA. Days to maturity are based on transplants, and are approximate. Most species are from India or Africa, which indicates these plants love heat. Start indoors 8-12 weeks before last frost. Surface-sow and keep moist until sprouts appear, which can take up to three weeks or so. Transplant into the garden when weather has settled and soil is warm. Provide rich soil and ample moisture.
Thai White Ribbed
The most unique-looking of the Thai eggplants, these are pure white, flat and deeply ribbed; the flesh is mild and tasty. This was our first Thai variety listed in 1998. We are happy to have it back again, as it is a personal favorite of Jere's.
