Jaltomato
New!
(Jaltomata sp.) Used in Mexican cuisine, Jaltomatos are native to Central
and South America. The one we offer has pea-sized purple berries that
have a tart flavor. Only completely ripe fruit are to be eaten, as green berries
and the rest of the plant may be poisonous. Fruits must be cooked
and sweetened to obtain flavor. Used in relishes and jellies. Attractive
plants are very prolific.
