Hairy Vetch
(Vicia villosa) Plant spring or fall for nitrogen fixation and abundance of
organic matter, even in acid soils. If mowed just as blooming commences,
the plants die, leaving a natural mulch which can be left as-is for no-till
planting, or incorporated for soil improvement. Perennial if allowed to set
