Kenaf Hibiscus
New!
(Hibiscus cannabinus) This amazing plant can grow up to 18’ in 150 days.
I like to grow it for its cream-colored blooms that have a red center, but
this crop is grown commercially for fiber used in making rope, paper, fabric,
particle board and more. In Africa it is believed to have been grown
4000 years. The edible leaves are cooked and eaten. Beautiful palmate
cut leaves that often look somewhat similar to marijuana, though not
related. There have been cases of inept deputies raiding this crop and
testing it as an illegal crop, under our multi-billion (taxpayers) dollar war
on drugs. 10 seeds.
