| PARSNIP
(Pastinaca sativa) Needs very deep, rich loose soil for best results, but will tolerate average garden soil. In cold-winter climates sow in earliest spring, a half-inch deep. Space plants several inches apart in all directions. Dig in the fall, after a few frosts have sweetened the roots. In mild-winter climates, sow in fall for early spring harvest.
600 seeds per packet.

Half Long Guernsey
New!
The Guernsey variety was the most popular parsnip of the
19th century. Introduced prior to the 1850’s, this variety is
medium-long, and has thick shoulders and smooth white
skin. Flavorful flesh gets even sweeter after a good frost in
autumn. In 1898, Nebraska Seed Company of Omaha said,
"As name indicates, not as long as the Hollow Crown. Quality
very sweet and delicate." We are glad to bring you this great
old treasure.
