RADICCHIO & CHICORY (Cichorium intybus) These are used like lettuce to make beautiful, tasty salads, and are good cooked. Most should be sown in late summer to mature into the cold weather. Rich, moist soil with lots of organic matter is ideal. Surface sow and rake in lightly, barely covering the seeds. Will usually germinate quickly if kept very moist. Grow the colored types to mature into colder weather of early-to-mid autumn. The cold sweetens the leaves as the color deepens. 250 seeds per packet.
