| RADISH
(Raphanus sativus) 200-500 seeds per packet. Cabbage-relatives that come originally from Asia, need cooler conditions to be at their best but may be grown through the summer in all but the hottest climates. Salad types may be sown from earliest spring, at 2-3 week intervals. Fall or Winter radishes are best sown 45 days or more before first frost of fall. They are grown, stored and used like turnips.

Crisp, small, white radishes are perfect for growing in cold frames over winter. This heirloom was introduced in the 1880's by David Landreth & Sons. It quickly became popular with market growers. Mild and tasty.
