| RUTABAGAS
(B. napus) 400 seeds per packet. Best in cooler-summer climates, where they are sown in spring into loose, rich, moist soil, about one-half inch deep and several inches apart in all directions. Harvest in the autumn. In hot summer regions, a crop is possible by sowing after midsummer, about 4 months before killing frost, which may not kill the plants but will stop their growth. Shading the ground and keeping uniformly moist may assist germination.
