Citrouille De Tourraine
New!
(C. pepo) This old French squash was described in 1856 by Charles
Naudin, who was a Paris plant collector and small seed dealer. Bears
very beautiful, tall, round, keg-shaped fruits with pale green rinds
that are marked with dark green lines and marbling. A huge and
pretty old squash that is said to reach weights of over 100 lbs, but
usually quite a bit smaller. In 19th century Europe, this squash was
grown to feed cattle. Young fruit are good fried, and larger fruit
make great decorations and feed for most livestock. Very rare variety
with very large seeds. Pkt (12 seeds)
