Red Warty Thing or Victor
New!
C. maxima) An incredible old squash, introduced a few years ago
by Rupp Seeds as "Red Warty Thing", after receiving some seeds
from the USDA; however, what they received was incorrectly labeled.
After doing research, Dr. Amy Goldman now believes this
variety is actually the true Victor, a variety introduced by Gregory’s
19th century seed house after Mr. Gregory saw this variety at exhibited
at county fairs. The round fruit are brilliant red, and completely
covered with bumps. Stunning to look at, and a must for
fall decorations; tasty flesh. A great market variety with vibrant
color, making it a quick seller.
