Best direct-seeded at about two weeks after last frost, but can be started earlier as transplants, provided the seedlings are set out before becoming rootbound. Thrives in rich soil full of organic matter. They can be trellised if desired. Supply abundant moisture and keep mature fruit picked. Requires a long season.

This is a special variety of giant wax gourd, producing 20lb. fruit that are long and of good quality. Great for soups or may be picked young as "hairy gourds" and fried. Delicious flavor.
