Henderson's Bush Lima Bean

LB101

71 days.Introduced in 1888 by Peter Henderson & Co. and is one of their most famous varieties; still popular to this day. In 1888 Henderson offered $100 cash for plants bearing the most pods and proclaimed it "A VEGETABLE WONDER!!!" “Can and should be grown in every garden," and also said "of all the Novelties ... ever sent out, there is nothing so entirely distinct and valuable as this New Vegetable." Dwarf bush plants can be grown like regular bush beans. Very tasty, tender beans, and very early too!

Contains 100 heirloom seeds

Great bean and a beautiful plant Review by Texas Ag

Overall Rating

Henderson's Bush Limas are our favorite lima so far. The plants are a beautiful deep green (in our garden which has a generous amount of manure tilled in). They are so pretty that I'm actually thinking of planting some int he front flower bed this year. The beans are wonderful; medium-sized, creamy texture, they also freeze well..

We've grown this variety for two years and we love it. It grows nicely for us in zone 7 North Carolina and has good yields and tasty results :).

I planted these late, and they still produced. I was surpised at how quickly they grew and produced. I want to grow these again..

Excellent lima for short season areas Review by BeckyW

We grow these every year in Colorado (z5a) and get several pickings before frost. We've even had excellent results during very cool summers when only a handful of days are above 90F and August nights in the 40s. .
