We had heard that these were good 'cucumbers' to plant here in the desert with our heat. The fruit tastes extremely similar to a cucumber. The deep ridges give it a very unique experience. When the temperatures stayed from 105-112 for a couple of months, most of our plants stopped giving us any fruit. These never quit producing, which left us searching for more cucumber recipes - after having given 20+ away to folks at church. Never went bitter due to heat either..
