Great Squash Review by Unknown
Overall Rating
I grew this squash for the first time this summer and I will grow it from now on. It produced well, tasted great, and the best part was that the squash stayed good (in the fridge) for weeks longer than other varieties. Also, Squash vine borer is a common problem here in central Arkansas and this plant lived all summer despite the insect onslaught we had. I highly recommend this plant..

This is our new favorite summer squash, very clean and fresh tasting. And I’d like to second the last guy, they held up on our counter a good two weeks longer then the crooknecks we grew.
Grown in Northern California, 2009..

This squash is so pretty that I keep some in a basket on my desk at work, and folks are always admiring it and asking what it is! It looks beautiful in the garden, too, and is extremely prolific. We love the taste and texture as well. We will not be without this beauty again..

Out of all the seeds I have ordered from this site, these ones grew the fastest! I live in Hawaii, so now you know that it does well in warm climates. These squash like plenty of water and sunshine. Mine have not produced yet, but are coming along nicely..

Wow, these steamed with butter and a little salt are mouth watering. They grow fast with the fruit being large by the time the flower drops off. They are beautiful and unique and far superior to the yellow variety I'm used to from the shops. Luckily they keep long as the plant has very high yields. These will have a place in my garden every summer..

Not my favorite, but... Review by Unknown

it's going strong despite being mostly covered in powdery mildew, the fruit grown quite large without becoming too seedy and they taste good. They stay quite firm with cooking, not like a zucchini. I'm just finding I like the taste of zucchini better..

An excellent squash Review by CA sunset zone 15

This variety exceeded my expectations--it's been growing more vigorously than other varieties I planted, producing more heavily, and the squash themselves taste better. The texture is meaty, not seedy or mealy, and stands up to cooking very well. I will be growing these every year!.

beautiful color, smooth textured pattypan Review by Sharon

Love this summer squash. First time growing it this summer and will plant next summer. Seems the more I pick the more flowers I see. Grows quickly, prolifical, and tasty. My neighbors and family members would back me up on that as they have all gotten some. Planted four plants, way to many for me, but I'm loving sharing this unique squash that keeps it's flavor and grows very large without getting seedy or thick..

Excellent species Review by New Mexico gardener

This is the first time I have grown a garden by myself, and I almost didn't dare hope that I would have any kind of yield of anything I planted. These plants have been producing the most delicious tasting fruit for nearly two months, and they look as though they will be producing for a while yet. They make the most delicious calabacitas, since they hold up better in cooking than do zucchini and yellow squash. I will definitely be planting these next year.

Wonderful taste, Texas, Heat, Drought, and Insect Tolerant! Review by Pamela
Overall Rating
Wonderful in Dallas Texas Area. Great tasting. This heat, drought and insect tolerant will be a staple for years to come. It is a good producer. During the summer of 2011 I only watered 2 times a week. I thought the heat was too great and I was working many long hours. I provided coworkers with plenty as well and once they tried it their thoughts were as mine. Little butter is needed because it already has a buttery flavor. The have small seeds compared to other Squash varieties. This Scallop Squash stayed fresh on my counter for weeks even without an air conditioned home. It is also insect and bug tolerant. Very little trimming is needed and of course, no peeling with this patty pan. .

a question... Review by thumbedcat

Can anyone comment on the growing habit of this squash? It is described as a bush type, but I've seen mention of it 'vining'. Trying to fit it in a small spot in the PNW! Thank you in advance. All of your comments are super helpful..
