Fabulous! A summer favorite Review by Unknown

Not the most productive zucchini, but the most delicious one I've grown. Beware, costatas are well camouflaged and require careful vigilance to prevent monster squash from surprising you..

Delicious squash and flowers Review by Unknown
Overall Rating
This squash has incredible flavor. The flowers are also highly flavorful. Not a huge producer, but the flavor brings it back up to five stars.
I have to echo the other reviewer and say that the squash hide well and grow fast. They're best eaten finger sized to small store zucchini sized, and once I missed a few monster squash, the plant clearly slowed down. I would recommend lopping off leaves to get a good view of the fruiting end and harvesting small squash diligently to get the best yield. Don't let it grow to the point that one end begins to get bigger, as that's when the taste begins to turn..

If you have space, a good plant to try Review by Tennessee Community Gardener
Overall Rating
This plant is worth growing for flavor and uniqueness, if you have the space. As others have written, you must be careful to pick the fruit at the right time.
For our community garden, it was not a good choice: it just doesn't produce enough compared to the amount of space the plants occupy, and our participants aren't so particular about the taste differences in zucchini squash. I'm going to recommend this plant to my mother, who has a huge garden only for the immediate family. That way there will only be a few of us fighting for the produce!.

Surprising Review by Claire

I liked these squash quite a bit but they got absolutely rave reviews from friends and family. They grew pretty fast, were abundant and seemed pretty hardy as we had really dry conditions towards the late summer as they were maturing. As was stated previously, they're best small- though I would definitely say larger than a finger- maybe closer to 1 1/2" inch in diameter as they grew pithy as they got much larger. However, some of those that reached 3 and 3 1/2" inches in diameter I was still able to use for stuffed zucchini and they weren't too pithy..

I forgot to add that these weep a little bit from the rind when you cut them- it looks sort of like sap but when you touch it it's not sticky at all but just watery and slightly astringent feeling- if you don't rinse the slices off before cooking it makes them a little bit slimy. Don't let that discourage you though- it takes 10 seconds and they're great..

Great taste, space hog Review by tracydr
Overall Rating
This is the best tasting zucchini I've ever grown. However, be aware that it is a space hog and it isn't the most productive zucchinni in the world. If you're growing zucchini just to throw in the freezer for bread, you may want to grow something else and grow one of these just for fresh eating. Also, this is the biggest zucchinni plant I've ever seen! The best blossoms ever if you like squash blossoms for stuffing or soup!.

Great taste Review by Nickmomdaniela

I tried this little gem this morning. I added it to my scrambled eggs and just loved the Taste. As stated. Not a huge producer but worth having. It's enough for my family of four. Even enough to give some to the chickens. For me this is a must have in my garden for years to come. This was my first time growing this, love it..

Very flavorful Review by Jenny

A great zucchini. I have trouble with squash bugs, but that didn't stop these plants from producing loads of fruit. In fact they far outperformed other zucchini I've grown. The small fruits are just gorgeous when sliced with a really cool starlike pattern due to the ribbing of the fruit. But the best quality is that even when you discover that monster zucchini hidden under a leaf, just scoop out the seeds and chop it up and it will still be tender and delicious with a mild thin skin. Plants do tend to crawl all over the place so give them about twice as much room as you think they'll need!.

Unique looking Review by Mrs. J

I was not overly impressed with production, but I am speaking from the Midwest where we were in a major drought this past season. Many people didn't get any zucchini at all. My husband hand-dug the "hills" for our squash, and we mulched like crazy, and we did.
These DID produce, just not as much. I enjoyed the unique shape, the slices can almost look like stars. I will probably plant again, just more..
