A Perfect Squash Review by Unknown
Overall Rating
This is the perfect summer squash for a hot, dry Mediterranean climate, like we have in Northern California. We get temps of over 100 for weeks at a time, along with hot, drying winds. So we had to water our squash 2 - 3X a day. Not this Lebanese squash! It never wilted, is very early, is VERY productive over a LONG period of time (Mid-Nov.) and is sweet and flavorful. We love it, and will grow it every year from now on. Highly recommended! (For clarity, it does required watering.) it nver rains here.

Best flavored summer squash Review by Unknown

This is the best summer squash there is, the main variety I grow. This is great stuffed, it goes perfectly with grilled shrimp in a squash soup or cooked down with shrimp and stuffed back in the shell. Served in one of the best restaurants in New Orleans..

Wow! Review by Unknown

I grew this squash in the high desert of SE Utah in the summer of 2009. Prolific doesn't even come close! The plants got huge and it was hard to keep up with the production. I used this squash for everything that I would any other summer squash: casseroles, breads, cobbler, etc! Like the other reviewer I had to water it but am definitely planning on growing this again!.

We have been harvesting this squash from May until August at the rate of several per week on 1-2 plants. Very good for stuffing, vegetable retains it's firmness when baked or steamed. Did well in intense SW sunshine..

Very good squash Review by Robbie

We've had some squash problems here this summer. I think the soil isn't the best in the area where I planted the squash, and I have had severe problems with squash bugs and cucumber beetles eating everything.
I planted 5 kinds of squash. One type had poor germination, one type hasn't produced anything, one type looks OK but we've gotten only a few squash. The Lebanese is doing very well, producing lots of squash, standing up to the bugs admirably, and tolerating the dry weather. The squash itself is delicious and tender..

Great tasting squash Review by Rachel

This has become my favorite summer squash! It's very tender and sweet, even at large sizes, and the plants produce heavily. We enjoyed it all summer long on the grill with just olive oil and salt. It also made amazing zucchini bread fresh, and froze very well for bread-making at the holidays. The squash is such a lovely shade of bluish-green, and it's so smooth - so pretty to look at! (Grown in NE Ohio.).

Awesome Review by Boomer

The plants can stand up to anything. They don't succumb to powdery mildew. They are such great producers. Best of all they taste amazing. I hand pollinate mine and it is really hard to keep up with the production. We don't mind this of course, good eating..

Absolutely Marvelous in Texas Review by Pamela

I was surprised when I realized what I planted. This squash was heat, drought, insect and bug tolerant. This mild flavored squash has typical large seeds but they are tender and definitely good. Some I have sliced and some I seeded. I have only steamed and baked in foil with a small amount of butter and Pam canola oil sprayed on them with a little salt and pepper. My adult son who does not eat veggies... liked them. .

I am in Zone 5B and there are times this area can get very dry. These squash did amazing all the way to Oct 28, when we had our first snow. They are delicious and there are some really cool recipes out there to try as well. It has a nice mild flavor, and we never ran out of them all summer long. .
