Chinese Yellow Cucumber

CU112

Beautiful, yellow-orange cucumber from mainland China; the young fruit is green. 10-inch fruit are as crisp as an apple. Very mild and delicious, great for slicing or for pickles. This was our largest yielding variety ever -- just a few plants produced hundreds of cucumbers! A very rare Chinese heirloom.

Contains 15 heirloom seeds

Vigorous, productive, delicious Review by DoGooder

I had a great time growing these cucumbers in Davis, CA. The plant was extremely vigorous and thrived in the high temperatures of our summer. I also appreciated the very crisp, slightly dry quality of the fruit..

delicious and plentiful Review by Unknown

Great tasting cucumber and beautiful to boot! Vines are healthy, supported by a trellis and they are loaded with cukes! Very easy to grow. I picked when there was still a slight green tinge to the skin and they were perfect. Very crisp!.

sometimes bitter skin Review by Unknown

Overall Rating

produced a lot of cukes, but the skin would sometimes be bitter. Also, once the skin turns yellow the seeds got hard and were tough to chew/digest. Had to rub off little spikey things on the outside before eating. this is my first cuke, so I don't have much to compare it to at this point....

Delicious Review by Stormybruin

We had a tough summer in 2009 for gardening in Rhode Island. Too wet and not warm enough. I only ended up with 3 cukes from 1 vine (the other vines didn't survive) and I wish I had more. They were crisp with a delicious flavor. I'm hoping for a better summer so I can share some of these this time. (I ate them all myself last year!).

A great cucumber for florida Review by The backyard Farmer

Overall Rating

This is the most prolific hardy cucumber I have grown in Florida and the best tasting. Everyone I introduced it to loved the flavor and are asking for more. Had very little problem with pests until summer..
