Great Cukes Review by Unknown
Overall Rating
These are the best cucumbers that we have grown in our raised beds and are producing exceptionally well. By Memorial Day weekend, the vines had grown up one side of the trellis and were on the way down the other! Tasty and crispy, it is fun to watch them grow, and grow, and grow! They make great pickles, too..

Nice and crisp Review by Unknown
Overall Rating
Just picked my first cucumbers in July 2010. About 15" long and 2-3" in diameter. Crisp and delicious! Too soon to estimate yield, but these grew quickly for me with no problems. Thin skin, seeds are barely noticeable. Easy to slice. Highly recommended..

This cucumber will change your idea of what a cucumber can look like if you've always grown "conventional" cucumbers. Some of ours were two feet long. They remain fairly slender. The crisp flesh has a delightful flavor. We made bread and butter pickles that were crisp and crunchy..

Daughter's favorite - mine, too. Review by Unknown
Overall Rating
My 11 y.o. daughter has to be the world's pickiest eater. She loves these cukes. This will be the third year we have planted them. They have just the right flavor and crispness for eating fresh as well as retaining all the right properties when they are pickled. Sadly though, few are pickled as she and my grandchildren eat all the cucumbers straight off the vine, with a ranch dressing dip, salted, peeled, unpeeled and, knowing them, probably with ketchup. Highly recommended..

*WONDERFUL* Review by Unknown
Overall Rating
These are my first Cucumbers...they are *WONDERFUL* They are already full of fruit. I can't believe how fast they grew. The other things in my garden are still at the baby veg. stage but these are ready to start making pickles! It is the last week of June and I live in North Carolina. I am picking them at 14 to 17 inches long and about 2 to 3 inches wide. Very mild. The skins are tender too. I don't think I need to try any others I am afraid I would be disappointed in them :).

Belongs in every garden Review by Unknown

I'm growing five different varieties of cucumber this year, and this is by far the best. It's also much better than any other I've ever grown. The taste is great, you'll get a nice "snap" to the skin, they're quite big, very prolific, and fairly early. It's tough to find a fault with this cucumber..

A very good cuke Review by Constant_Gardner
Overall Rating
I grew this cuke, looking for something close to English Cukes. These were very good - never bitter. Mine grew with the bottom slightly bulbing & with more developed seeds in it. I waited until they were at least 1 1/2" diameter at the top to pick. The thin top 2/3 of the cuke was very good-no seeds, crisp. Mine didn't survive our scorching July - probably my fault. I will plant them again next spring- but will have to give them more TLC. I am pleased with them, but I wish they survived longer..

Great Cucumber! Review by Englishguyintexas

I think this is the best cucumber I have grown. I usually grow them on a trellis so the long cucumbers can grow down and stay off the ground, but I have found they grow just fine running on the ground as well. They are very long and firm with a good flavor..

These are absolutely great cucumbers for taste, lack of seeds, crispiness, and the most perfect ones I've grown for pickling. However, I had very meagre yields..

High yields, great fruit Review by Russell
Overall Rating
I've been growing these for 6 years in the Raleigh area of NC. I am still using the original seed pack as the germination rates remain high. Here in NC the vines grow fast and can easily get to 12 or 15 feet if you trellis them well. The cukes are never bitter and the seeds are never a problem, even after forgetting to pick for a while and they get 20" long (or longer!). They are great raw or for making pickles. Be sure to rotate where you grow them every couple of years or till in a lot of manure, etc if you keep them in the same spot..

Amazing! Review by Jenny
Overall Rating
Wow. 18" to 24+" cucumbers that are absolutely delicious. Very sweet, great to eat fresh without anything on them. Skin stays thin and crisp and seed cavities stay pretty small no matter how big the cuke gets. They hold well in the fridge and I think they make pretty darn good pickles too, in spears or slices, anyway you like them. These will be my number one cucumber..

GREAT cucumber! Review by Ozark

I've grown vegetable gardens for over 30 years and tried many varieties of cucumbers. 79 days ago I planted these Japanese Long cukes for the first time. I planted one pack of seeds along a fence panel 8' long and 5' high. We've canned 23 quarts of pickles and supplied three families for weeks now. I filled a 4 gallon bucket again with cukes this morning, the vines are still going and blooming! These are crisp and crunchy even at 15"-18" long, the flavor is great, the seeds are small and the skin is thin and easy to peel. The vines are compact and don't overrun the paths in my garden. The large size of these cukes mean you're getting 2 or 3 times as many, sliced, as from the same size row of most other varieties. There's not a single negative thing about this cucumber - it's all GOOD. In future gardens, I'll plant one pack of these early and another in mid-season, and that's it. I can't think of a single reason for me to ever grow another cucumber variety. HIGHLY recommended!.

Now THAT is a cucumber Review by Carl
Overall Rating
Crisp, mild cucumber that has a slightly sweet taste, seeds are usually small and not noticeable when eating. While not tough or hard to eat, this cuke has a nice, snappy crunch to it. It goes perfect in salads. You can pickle this if you prefer, but you will need to slice it. This is definitely a cucumber you want to train up a tall and long trellis as it will grow vigorously. I disagree with others who say the vines are compact. (Maybe if you leave them as ground runners, but I have a trellis that is 10 ft. tall by 8 ft. long, and 3 feet wide, and the three plants here have far overtaken that. Give them ample water, and sunshine, they will do well! For that matter, mine all recovered after a marble size hail storm--which they had slight northern cover being on the south side of the house..

My Search is Over Review by Wild Flower Garden

I tried several varieties of cucumbers in 2011. The Japanese Long came out as the superior cucumber among 5 other cucumbers of various sizes and colors. This plant was hardy, and produced the nicest cucumbers I've grown in many years. My search for the perfect cucumber is over. I'm going to be growing Japanese Long for many years to come..

WOW Review by Liz

This is absolutely the best. I am not a huge fume fan but I love these. Extremely prolific and never bitter no matter how long they grew. Do make sure your soil is warm enough or seeds won't germinate. Did have a problem with anthracnose (my problem) but didn't affect yield or flavor. Highly recommend!.
